Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Roads Throughout Qatar – Contract 7

Ashghal has added to its list of contracts for reconstruction, rehabilitation and maintenance throughout Qatar.

Contract 7 – Tender No. PWA/GTC/006/12-13

The Works generally comprise of reconstruction, rehabilitation and  maintenance of roads involving the General Traffic Works for Internal and External Works to ensure the safe movement of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic on all roads throughout the State of Qatar.

The scope of works comprise the reconstruction, rehabilitation and maintenance of road works and ancillary works. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

 Maintenance of traffic and detours

Site clearance

Drainage works

Service ducts

Earthworks

Sub-base and Road base

Flexible surfacing

Kerbs and footways

Traffic signs

Road markings

Works in relation to the following existing and future utility services

Water

Electricity

Telephone

Street lighting

Traffic signal

Ashghal PWA is constantly looking to improve and introduce new technology and innovation including the introduction and use of new types of equipment, machinery and materials in improving the processes and outcomes for the operations and maintenance of the roads network through Quick wins.

As part of this contract we are seeking from the tenderers to propose in their technical submission, under the heading of Introducing new technology and innovation in Roads Maintenance, any quick win ideas concerning new concepts, technology products that are currently available in the international market that will bring added benefits, if these were to be used and adopted in Qatar by the Ashghal’s  Roads O&M Department.

Note: The above requirement for submission of Quick Win ideas is optional and in addition to the tenderers submission in Section D, Appendix B, however it will be a major influencing factor in recognizing that there will be added benefits from the most innovative and technically advanced tenderers submitting their business case and cost / benefits for adopting their Quick Wins.

The Tenderer may include the additional cost associated with the above Quick Wins option in page F/5 of Appendices to Form of Tender.
