KSA’s Al Yamamah Steel wins $78mn in orders for Saudi-Egypt border project

Supply contract set for a one-year period

Al Yamamah Steel Industries Company, the Saudi-based company, has announced that it has won two orders worth $78 million from Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company for the supply of steel towers for the construction of electricity transmission lines for a key project on the Egyptian border.
In a filing to the Saudi bourse Tadawul, the company said that the first contract covers the supply of steel towers for the construction of a 380KV line running between the new Afif BSP and Mahd BSP, while the second contract is for the construction of a 500KV electricity interconnection project between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
The supply contract is for a one-year period, it added.
Last month, Al Yamamah Steel said that it had clinched a key contract worth $47.6 million from Arabian Electrical Transmission Line Construction Company for the supply of steel towers to construct the 380KV link between Buhirah Station and Tabarjal Station.
As per the deal, the Saudi group will start supplying the materials for a one-year period effective May, it added.
