UK contractor Costain says that it is poised to expand its Middle East operation as it looks to ride the wave of infrastructure investment in the region.
The company is developing its Abu Dhabi-based regional operation into what it describes as “a broad service provider encompassing design, construction, and operations and maintenance”.
Costain Group chief executive Andrew Wyllie revealed that the company has appointed former highways director and Atkins executive Tim Bowen to oversee growth in the rail, water and highways sectors. Bowen also takes responsibility for the further development of Costain’s consultancy and operations and maintenance services in the Middle East.
“Tim Bowen will now take responsibility for implementing strategy in the Middle East and ensuring our customers there receive the same broad scope of service which we offer in the UK markets,” said Wyllie.
