Batelco solar park on track for October 2021 completion
Solar park forms a key part of telecom services provider’s sustainability goals and efforts
Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecommunications services operator, has announced that work on its solar park development at Ras Abu Jarjoor, next to the company’s Satellite Earth Station and RJR Data Centre, is progressing at a steady pace and is on track for completion in October 2021.
In a statement, Batelco said that senior management from its Network and Corporate Communications divisions made a site visit to view progress of the park. Construction work began in February 2021, and once completed, the solar energy generated by the park will be used to power the RJR Data Centre.
The Batelco teams toured the site led by Batelco’s Project Manager Nader Ahmed, from Batelco’s Network Division who outlined the project details, alongside representatives from Almoayyed Solar Co., the project contractor, who provided a progress report on the project, the statement said.
The Batelco Solar Park forms an important part of Batelco’s sustainability efforts and supports the company’s goal of becoming an eco-friendly corporation by producing clean energy to power its operations, it concluded.
