Neom presents vision and plans to 150-leading design and construction firms
Four-day gathering showcases the megaproject’s vision and plans in support of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030
Neom has successfully concluded a four-day gathering of 150-leading companies from across the world’s design and construction industry, it has announced.
In a statement, Neom said that the meeting took guests through the developer’s vision and plans in support of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman’s directive to build a better future for the country.
Attendees visited the Neom Logistics Park, which includes new construction villages that support labourer communities up to 30,000 as well as offices, warehouses, and construction service establishments, the statement added.
The 12 km2 Park will be one of the world’s largest temporary logistics centres and serve all future phases of construction in the coming years, it added.
“Neom is committed to the future of design and construction and positively disrupting the way projects are delivered, leaving a lasting industry legacy. The scale and complexity of this project requires strong partnerships between Neom and the entire industry value chain to make Neom’s vision a reality,” said Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of Neom.
As a cornerstone of Vision 2030, which is driving economic diversification in the Kingdom, Neom is a project of unique scale, aiming to contribute 380,000 jobs and $47.99 billion to domestic GDP by 2030.
Commenting on the gathering and the immediate and long-term opportunities for local and international contractors, Brett Smythe, Chief Projects Officer at Neom, said: “The response we saw confirms there is extremely strong industry interest in what we are trying to achieve here, not just because of the unprecedented size of the project, but also because of the way we are executing it.
