Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, KSA - Jun 09, 2017 new buildings being constructed in the new King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh

The Saudi Contractors Authority has announced the launch of a new initiative to evaluate contractors as part of efforts to ensure transparency in the sector.

According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, the evaluation criteria will include quality, schedule, environment, health and safety values, communication, responsiveness and compliance.

Furthermore, the SCA said, the new criteria aims to develop an electronic database containing necessary data about contractors and their evaluation report, which will be prepared in cooperation with the relevant authorities.

SCA added that the initiative means that contractors will now have opportunities to highlight their performance in different projects to allow for fair competition in the sector, and to raise the overall quality standards of work in the industry.
