Igor Corelj has joined HKA’s Middle East expert team as director, the firm announced.
According to a statement from HKA, Corelj has been based in the Middle East since 2009, during which he has led large multidisciplinary teams with great success. He has also worked across the supply chain, giving him thorough insight into the diversity of contractual arrangements and issues arising out of them.
His proficiencies include on-site contracting experience, commercial management of large infrastructure projects at the head office level and consultancy services at all stages and aspects of the project lifecycle, HKA explained.

His experience and expertise in dealing with high-profile quantum disputes in the region will be greatly valued by the wider team,” said Michael Tonkin, partner and head of Expert Services (AMEA) at HKA.
Corelj is a structural engineer and a chartered quantity surveyor with 14 years of experience in the international construction industry. He is said to have acted as a quantum expert on several occasions and has assisted on numerous complex engineering and construction arbitration matters, including attendance at multiple hearings.

By combining detailed technical knowledge, international commercial management experience and awareness of legal issues, Corelj can articulate clear and methodical explanations of the key issues relating to the quantification and valuation of various claims. He has been recognised for his consummate professionalism in adopting an independent standpoint for the analysis of claims submitted in formal dispute proceedings, HKA said.
