Bahrain’s housing ministry says 30,000 homes delivered to citizens over past five years

Move follows decree from King Hamad to construct 40,000 units for citizens

Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing has announced that nearly 30,000 residential units and several services have been delivered to eligible citizens across the Kingdom in the past five years.

According to a statement from the ministry, the development and handover drive follows a royal order issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to construct 40,000 units for citizens.

The ministry also said it is currently distributing 5,000 housing units to eligible recipients following an order issued by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. These include ownership apartments, units and residential plots in East Hidd Town, the Buhair Project, Salman Town and other key areas across the Kingdom.

Construction works are said to have been completed on Salman Town, East Hidd Town and the Ramli residential project over the past five years, while work on East Sitra Town is currently on track. The ministry has also completed work on 40 other residential blocks across the Kingdom, which contributed to meeting the needs of thousands of Bahraini families, the ministry explained.
