Enerpac introduces new SafeT for hands-free bolting

New device improves safety by minimising exposure to pinch points and high-pressure hydraulic connection when using its square drive torque wrenches

A new torque lock device introduced by Enerpac allows safer, hands-free bolting operation when using the brand’s square drive torque wrenches.

According to Enerpac, the new SafeT Torque Lock is “an innovative and user-friendly safety tool” that improves worker safety by minimising exposure to pinch points and high-pressure hydraulic connections. It can also be used in any orientation, including inverted positions, thus reducing the possibility of tool slippage and operator fatigue.

Enerpac is a global provider of high-pressure hydraulic tools, controlled force products, portable machining, on-site services and solutions for precise positioning of heavy loads. A statement from the company added: “The SafeT Torque Lock converts Enerpac S-Series and RSQ-Series wrenches into a hands-free operation which grips securely to any hexagon nut in any orientation, including inverted. No additional tooling is required or loose components such as reaction washers are needed. The SafeT assembles onto the torque wrench with one push of the square drive quick-release button for tightening or loosening. It works with heavy hex nuts that conform to ANSI B18.2.4 and has a max torque value of 5,000Nm.”

Enerpac tools and equipment have helped move and maintain some of the largest global structures in industries such as aerospace, infrastructure, manufacturing, mining, oil & gas and power generation.
