Al Faris completes UAE power plant lift projects

The Al Faris Group has announced the completion of two major power plant expansion and upgrade projects within the UAE, both of which involved transportation, lifting and installation of various components such as HRSG modules, condensers, steam drums, generators and tanks.

While both projects were completed recently over a period of six months in different stages, the entire duration saw utmost safety and compliance to site regulations in these challenging times, Al Faris added.

At one site, Al Faris completed more than 50 heavy tandem lifts, including installation of HRSG modules, said a statement from the company, adding: “Lifting of all the various components was safely completed using our 800t, 650t, 400t and 250t crawler cranes and transportation was completed using our conventional hydraulic trailers and self-propelled modular trailers.”

For the other project, Al Faris installed a total of 15 modules ranging from 160t to 353t using its Liebherr 1000t crawler crane. The transportation was completed using conventional hydraulic trailers and self-propelled modular trailers. The company added that it fabricated 270 customised stools in-house for storage purposes of the modules on-site.

“Al Faris provided our client with a complete solution for transporting, lifting and installation of these modules. All surveys, planning, technical support documentation, execution plans and schedules were prepared in-house prior to job execution. This helped organise all activities smoothly with minimum delays. Execution was safely carried out by our trained operators. We also provided a strong commitment and focus to adhere to best QHSE practices on-site which was discussed in detail with the client prior to the commencement of any operations,” the statement elaborated.
