Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa named as first Emirati CEO of Ducab Group

Ducab Group has named Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa’s as its new Group CEO, effective January 1, 2021.

Qualifying as an industrial engineer in the USA, Al Mutawa joined the UAE manufacturer in 2015 from EGA, serving most recently as CEO of Ducab Cable Business.

He most recently served as CEO of Ducab Cable Business where he focused on strengthening Ducab’s market leadership in the UAE whilst aggressively growing the wire and cables export business.

The operation now generates about 25% of revenues and sells to over 20 countries. As a key member of the Group’s executive management team and a talented leader with a strong understanding of the business as a manufacturer of cable and metal products, he has been a key driver in developing the company’s 5-year strategic plan, said Ducab.

He previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at Ducab Group, and had joined Ducab from EGA after becoming qualified as an industrial engineer in the USA.

His predecessor Andrew Shaw served in the position for 13 years and continues at the firm as a board advisor.

UAE nationals hold approximately two-thirds of the senior management positions within Ducab Group. According to the company, its first Emirati Group CEO appointment is the culmination of a carefully planned succession strategy which brings its leadership in line with its own UAE National development programme.
