Khidmah has announced that it has logged more than seven million safe man-hours with zero lost time injury (LTI) since the beginning of the year. This also includes 2.4 million safe man-hours during the summer of 2020.
Maher Al Aghbar, executive director at Khidmah, said: “Achieving zero LTIs since the beginning of 2020 reaffirms our unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment and safeguarding our employees across all aspects of our operations.”
“Over the years, Khidmah has launched many safety programmes, training and awareness sessions and campaigns that enabled the company to create a safe work and living environment in all our managed and maintained projects.”
Khidmah stated that it currently has over 3,200 employees and provides services to more than 80 projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The facilities management company stated that it has extended its safety programmes and training sessions by launching an initiative called “I SEE I FIX”, over two years ago. This initiative encourages every staff member, on all levels, to be more responsible and take charge whenever they encounter an issue concerning health and safety.
Additionally, employees were given in-depth trainings on mid-break regulations and guidelines provided by the UAE government as well as on how to give proper attention and care to outdoor teams in managed communities.
The company added that it also runs several safety programmes including HSQE site inspections, toolbox sessions, safety talks, HSQE committee meetings and brings in third-party safety experts to ensure injuries are avoided.
“Compliance to local and international safety regulations and standards, proper training and implementation of safety management systems to mitigate current and foreseeable risks played a major role, however, it has only been made possible thanks to the hard work and proactive efforts taken by all our employees including our HSQE team and internal trainers,” Al Aghbar concluded.
