World-leading water and climate company, Grundfos, is hosting a free-to-attend, CPD-certified webinar covering the advantages of applying Distributed Pumping, the state-of-the art digital pump technology that is the latest evolution in chilled water technology.
The two-hour webinar will take place from 11am to 1pm (GST) on 18th November 2020, and interested participants can sign up for the free-to-attend session here.
Distributed Pumping is an innovative technology for chilled water systems that overcomes the problems of temperature imbalance and inefficient operation which plagues traditional centrally pumped HVAC systems in today’s buildings. The application of Distributed Pumping could save energy and improve living and working conditions in homes and buildings across the Middle East.
“Traditional chilled water systems are difficult and expensive to both commission and balance as demand varies depending on time and location. Using a high energy pump to force the coolant through the system and then restricting the flow with a valve is effectively throwing good energy after bad,” said Ronak Monga, Grundfos CBS Segment Manager for the Gulf, Levant and Pakistan. “With Distributed Pumping, however, we have developed a modern sustainable solution that meets the needs of tomorrow’s world.
“To Grundfos, sustainability is not just about delivering more efficient pumping systems, it’s about giving people the knowledge to make more sustainable choices and helping them to understand the options that are now available in our increasingly digital world.
“During the current crisis, it has become even more important that we keep our skills up to date and stay ahead of new developments in the field – and we are therefore encouraged that our webinars have so far attracted in excess of 5,000 attendees.”
The technology turns current thinking on its head by replacing the large, centralized pump and balancing valve system with a network of smaller, digitally controlled pumps that automatically respond to changes in demand at local level. Easier to install, easier to manage and more reliable than the older systems, the new high-efficiency Distributed Pumping systems create a more comfortable internal environment, reduce maintenance and can cut energy usage and related bills by 55%, even in the most efficient systems.
This new approach has been CPD accredited, and Grundfos has already incorporated it into its online educational package that has been supporting the industry during the current Covid-19 crisis.
