Fakieh Hospitality and Leisure Group launches new recreational project in Jeddah
The recreational project includes walkaways and a women-only beach
The Fakieh Hospitality and Leisure Group have launched a new recreational project on Al Nawras Island in Jeddah. It comprises a 200m long, 25m wide walkway in both directions and overlooks restaurants, cafes, as well as entertainment and artistic centres.
According to a report by the Saudi Gazette, the Fakieh Hospitality and Leisure Group is developing the project as part of the Cities Humanisation Initiative of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The initiative aims to improve the quality of life in the Jeddah governorate by raising the per capita share of green spaces and recreational areas, in addition to increasing the number of sports practitioners.
Jeddah Mayor Saleh Al Turki launched the recreational project, which includes walkaways and also a women-only beach. There will also be a cinema hall, a marina for boats, in addition to a health club and a games area.
The report said that the idea of the project changed from hotel chalets that are operated by an international company, to a project and a tourist destination targeting all waterfront visitors including people of the city and visitors of Jeddah, where Nawras Island will be linked to the waterfront.
