Palm Jumeirah set to break world record for largest fountain
The Palm Fountain will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest fountain, currently held by Dubai Fountain
Nakheel Malls’ The Pointe has announced the launch date for its latest attraction, The Palm Fountain, which will attempt to break a Guinness World Records title. The inaugural launch event will be on Thursday, October 22, when it will attempt to break the record for the world’s largest fountain.
Spread over 1300 sqm. of ocean, the fountain will be able to shoot water as high as 105 m, while 3000 LED lights will create a multi-coloured display accompanied by music.
Omar Khoory, managing director of Nakheel Malls, said that The Palm Fountain is a celebration of Dubai’s resilience and part of an expanding portfolio of iconic attractions on Palm Jumeirah.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) added that The Pointe’s standing as one of Dubai’s premier dining and leisure destinations would be further elevated with the unveiling of the new record-breaking attraction.
The Palm Fountain has confirmed that it will have 20 bespoke shows with five different shows running daily between sunset and midnight. Each show is expected to be 3 minutes in duration and will be performed every 30 minutes.
Designed by Beijing Water Design Technology, The Palm Fountain will be the only multi-coloured fountain in Dubai, once launched. Xin Su, chairman of Beijing Water Design Technology, said: “We are proud to be part of the design, build and operation of The Palm Fountain – an extraordinary feat.”
He added that this project was unique for them as they had to be quite inventive during the process. “A true sustainability and design accomplishment, only the very best technology and expertise were utilised to bring this to life,” Su further added.
