A $163.36 million contract has been awarded to the National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) for the expansion of Lake Manzala in Egypt. NMDC said the project will be implemented in partnership with Al-Tahadi Egyptian-Emirati Co and will be completed in two years.
The company disclosed the value of the award in a letter to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, ADX, said a report by WAM.
The lake is located in northeastern Egypt on the Nile Delta and is in close proximity to Port Said. It is said to be the largest of the northern deltaic lakes of Egypt.
NMDC provides dredging, reclamation and marine construction services and undertakes energy, environmental, tourism, urban development and seaborne trade projects. The firm says that it boasts a talented workforce and a fleet of world class vessels.
