Bahrain’s Housing Minister Bassem bin Yacoub Al Hamar has announced that work is moving at a steady pace on the East Hidd Town development, with construction fully completed on the 740-unit Qlaiaa neighbourhood project.
According to a report by BNA, around 90% of the Phase Two of Bu Shaheen neighbourhood project, comprising of 398 housing units, and 91% of the 375-unit Umm Al-Sawali neighbourhood project have been completed.
The remarkable progress on these projects has been due to the housing ministry’s efforts to quicken the pace of work of construction projects to meet His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s plan to build 40,000 housing units for the citizens, remarked Yacoub Al Hamar.
He was speaking after an inspection tour at the project sites along with Housing Ministry Undersecretary Shaikh Khalid bin Hmood Al Khalifa and a number of officials and site engineers.
This comes from the government’s keenness to maintain housing projects at priorities’ forefront to provide decent living for citizens by adopting the best modern design standards for road networks, sewage and bridge networks, as well as providing green spaces and walkways, he added.
