AFI launches integrated MEWP hire app
Customers using the app can request, retrieve, view and accept or decline quotes on selected machines, wherever they are on a smartphone device
Powered access rental and training company, AFI, has launched an integrated MEWP hire app which allows users to create a trade account and register their details and browse machines available for hire.
The UK-based AFI Group of Companies, which also operates in the Middle East, said that using the app, customers can also request, retrieve, view and accept or decline quotes on selected machines, wherever they are on a smartphone device. The app is available to download on both Apple and Android platforms.
Using the fully integrated app, new customers can register for an AFI account and quickly place a cherry picker hire order, said a statement from AFI. Existing customers can use their smartphones and their current online login details to access their AFI account 24/7 from home, job-sites or wherever they are.
Luke Roberts, head of Digital Transformation, AFI Group Services, said: “AFI have started a journey to lead the industry with technology. This app has been over a year in the making. COVID-19 has had the effect of accelerating the adoption of digital processes by our customers across all sectors. Whilst out on site, you will be instantly connected to see what machines you have on hire, hire and off-hire machines, or watch familiarisation videos anytime of the day.
“It’s a real timesaver. The AFI app along with our existing online portal means that users can open an account and place an order in minutes as well as accept quotes. It offers customers the best digital experience.
Anyone who is currently onsite or at home and organising equipment for jobs in the next few days or weeks can pick up their phone and use the app to hire the machine they need to get the job done.”
AFI added that the app is part of its wider digital transformation strategy to make it easy for customers in different sectors to do business with the AFI group of companies. It was originally designed before the pandemic for a growing number of customers working remotely from tablet and mobile devices. The app makes it easy to hire MEWPs online, with an off-hire and view order history facility as well as access to a host of information and resources.
