Samana Developers has announced that construction work at Samana Greens stands at 93% complete, while over 50% of work has been completed at Samana Hills. The projects, worth $54m, are taking shape in Arjan Dubailand.
According to the developer, Samana Greens sits on a built-up area of 13,000sqm and boasts 122 units comprising studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments and six retail spaces. The project is on track for delivery in October of this year, the statement said.
Following an official visit earlier this month, Rera’s site inspection team lauded progress despite the hardships caused by COVID-19. The developer notes that work on Samana Greens was slow initially due to the failure of the contractor to complete works as per the timeframe outlined in the agreement. The project also saw 15% slower activity due to COVID-19 related restrictions from March to May.
The developer notes that it managed to achieve normal workflow by the changing of workers’ shifts. It notes that work is now back to the pace seen in the pre-pandemic period.
Commenting on Samana Hills, the developer said three slabs have been completed and concrete pouring of the fourth is starting soon. The G+5 residential project’s delivery is expected to coincide with the new start date of Expo 2020, which has now been scheduled for October 1, 2021.
“I am thankful to them for endorsing our efforts, resilience and steadfast commitment to build and deliver on time. Being firm during the challenging time has paid us well with the preponement of the $27.2m Samana Hills project, which we plan to deliver ahead of schedule. We will maintain the same pace which will eventually lead us to the preponement of the project, in Q3 of 2021, to perfectly coincide with the start of Expo 2020, which will kick off on October 1, 2021,” explained Samana group CEO Imran Farooq.
Samana Hills is to be a luxurious, resort-style apartment complex and will occupy 100,000sqft. The free-hold property will house 205 apartments that include an assortment of studios and one-bedroom units.
The developer notes that contractors at its projects are fully complying with construction and COVID-19 related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the UAE authorities.
