Provis saves 10,000 tons of CO2 across 12 communities

Estate management company aiming to double energy savings in its communities and exceed $1.9 million by end of the year

Estate management company Provis claims it has managed “major energy and utility cost savings” worth over $816,775 in the last six months across 12 communities across in the UAE.

The company said that the introduction of a number of sustainability initiatives had resulted in, “avoiding 10,000 tons of CO2 emissions and nearly 22 million KWH of total energy from chilled water and electricity optimisation initiatives – resulting in 66% overall improvement in utility savings compared to the same period last year.”

“We are committed to the long-term sustainability objectives of the country and will spare no effort to positively contribute to the UAE Vision 2021 and the Abu Dhabi Environment Vision 2030,” said HP Aengaar, CEO, Provis. “Thanks to our team’s expertise, we were able to make significant savings across several communities we manage without compromising quality.

“We are aiming to double the energy savings in our communities to exceed AED 7 million ($1.9 million) by end of year and by over 15% during the next two years. We strongly believe that the technology we’ve adopted as part of our digital transformation journey has helped us optimize our communities and will certainly support our ambitious energy savings goals.”

Green features implemented at Provis managed communities include the installation of energy-efficient LED lights and the implementation of several water conservation techniques using weather-based irrigation systems and the use of Treated Sewage Effluent for irrigation purposes. This led to water savings worth $80,000.

Provis is using a cloud-based real time Building Management System (BMS) to collect data and automatically detect faults which it says lowers operating costs and reduces energy bills. The BMS is projected to save 4% to 6% of energy and operating costs annually, while other solutions such as data analytics of assets and cooling optimisation have “already been rolled out and the company is seeing clear results across its portfolio.”
