All of the projects are said to be on track for completion, the latest being in Q4, 2021
The Ministry of Infrastructure Development has stated that work on three key projects worth $80.3m are progressing at pace in Dubai and Sharjah.
Two projects in Sharjah – Phase Two of the Sharjah-Dhaid-Masafi E88 Federal Road Development work and the Sharjah Police Headquarters Project – will be completed by the end of this year, while the Lesaily School Project in Dubai is set for completion in 2021.
Located in the Al Bataeh region of Sharjah, the E88 project will see the expansion of the existing local road network. It will also feature one lane in each direction and link Intersection No. 10 on the E88 Sharjah-Dhaid Road and E102 on the Sharjah-Meleiha Road.
The project involves the removal of the existing road, as well as the construction of a new two-lane road and a bridge over the new Khorfakkan Road, in addition to the implementation of the latest traffic safety requirements, according to Moneera Abdulkareem, director of the Southern Region at the Ministry.
Commenting on the Sharjah Police Headquarters project, Abdulkareem explained it was 64% complete and due for handover this year. The nine-building development is being implemented as per the ‘Project 360 Initiative’ using virtual reality and augmented reality, she noted.
On the Dubai school project, Abdulkareem said the Lesaily School complex is being built over a 9,500sqm area at an estimated cost of $12m. The ministry is supervising the project which will be ready by the fourth quarter of 2021.
