Consumer cooperative is planning to expand into Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Northern Emirates in the future

20% of construction has been completed on Union Coop’s $11m commercial centre project. The project is taking shape in the Al Bada’a area of Dubai and is said to be on track for completion in January 2021.

According to a statement, the two-storey commercial centre will feature a basement, ground and first floor, and will have a total built-up area of 105,970sqft. It will feature 61 parking spaces in both the basement and ground floors, while a 25,484sqft supermarket will open on the first floor of the building.

The implementation of this project is said to be driven by the company’s endeavor to achieve one of its most important goals, which is strategic expansion and increasing its outreach to serve the members of society and shareholders, and contribute to obtaining a unique shopping experience.

“Union Coop is continuing with its plans to support rapid expansion and proliferation, to achieve the highest levels of benefits for the shareholders and provide the best offers for products at competitive prices for the members of the community. While implementing the Al Bada’a project, we focused on applying cutting-edge construction standards in the sustainability of the international standards,” said CEO Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi.

He noted that Union Coop plans to expand to other emirates such as Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Northern Emirates in the coming years.
