Kohler Power names Brian Melka new group president

Industry veteran to head company’s power group business globally, including Kohler Engines

Engine and power heavyweight Kohler has announced the appointed of Brian Melka as its new Group President – Power.

Kohler said in a statement that in his new role, Melka will provide strategic and operational leadership for the company’s global Power Group businesses: Power Systems, Kohler Engines, Clarke Energy and Kohler Uninterruptible Power. He will also be responsible for accelerating growth and profitability and will report to David Kohler, president and CEO.

Melka joined Kohler in 2013 as vice president – Kohler Engines Americas, where he delivered the best run of profitable growth in the history of the engines business, according to the company. His most recent position in the company was as president – Engines, since February 2019, where he oversaw leadership of the global engines business which includes Engines Americas, Engines China and Engines EMEA, and executed strategic plans for both gasoline and diesel markets.

Prior to Kohler, he held senior leadership roles with Rexnord and Textron, and is also a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
