Arcadis announces new director of asset management for the Middle East

Arcadis has announced Martin Cordwell as director of Asset Management in the Middle East. The company says the move aligns with its plans to strengthen its program management and business advisory services in the region.

Cordwell has a civil engineering background and has over 30 years of industry experience, including 13 years in the Middle East. He will help ramp up Arcadis’ asset optimisation delivery and technical digital offerings for clients in the region, while also leveraging the company’s global capabilities and best practice in asset management, including operations management, a statement from Arcadis said.

As part of his new role, he will be responsible for providing technical advice for asset project lifecycle services including policy and strategy development, business case, risk management, optimisation, lifecycle development, capital investment planning and PPP advisory services.

“Undoubtedly, there is an urgent demand within the industry and from our regional clients to optimise capital and operational expenditure of assets. By strengthening our program management and advisory services through Martin’s recent appointment together with our growing digital capabilities, we are confident that we can offer our clients a stronger and smarter solution to asset management, engineering and technology moving forward,” said Anita Foley, Program Management Business Unit director, Middle East at Arcadis.

Cordwell joins Arcadis from Jacobs where he was in-charge of the strategic consulting practice covering market strategy, business development, risk management, delivery and resourcing for the regional business including asset management, economics, sustainability, and PPP advisory. His prior experience also includes a management consultant role with WS Atkins & Partners Overseas.

Commenting on his appointment, Cordwell remarked, “Although we are facing unprecedented times today, I am pleased to join Arcadis and look forward to utilising my technical and consultancy experience to support clients and partners, while positively contributing to the changing dynamics of our industry.”
