Eversendai, the Malaysian engineering and construction company, has signed up its offshore unit and Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company, as global strategic partners in its modular construction work.
According to report by New Strait Times, a Malaysian English-language newspaper, Eversendai has said that the projects secured by the alliance would be carried out at its 200,000sqm waterfront fabrication yard in RAK Maritime City, in the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.
The fabrication facility will be able to serve both the Western and Eastern hemispheres, while also being able to deliver large modular fabricated and constructed structures, the report added.
The facility’s technical expertise and engineering capabilities include design, engineering, fabrication and construction of power and petrochemical plants, marine and offshore structures, including the offshore wind renewable energy sector.
Eversendai has undertaken similar modularised projects on a turnkey basis with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning scope for the Offshore Support Facility Building in Kuwait.
The partnership deal allows Eversendai and Hyundai E&C to explore business opportunities in the international market for both the construction and energy industries. This includes delivering competitive proposals based on the joint expertise and experience of both companies, the report concluded.
