The Sustainable City has launched the first edition of a series of educational webinars in a bid to foster a deeper understanding of sustainability practices in the built environment.
According to a statement, the webinars were prepared and compiled by the education & knowledge arm of Diamond Developers – the SEE Institute. The webinar series is said to have been summarised and packaged into seven interactive modules including topics like Climate Change and the SEE Concept, Food, Energy, Water, Building Materials & Products, Mobility and Waste.
The Zoom-based webinars are free to attend and are open to everyone. Each session is to run for 30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of an interactive question and answer session, the statement noted.
Covering implementation and challenges in practicing sustainability, the webinars will be hosted by Karim El-Jisr, chief sustainability officer (social) at Diamond Developers.
SEE Institute will also provide specialised courses in sustainability, in addition to hosting conferences and seminars at its headquarters, the statement said. The headquarters, once open, is expected to be one of the first energy-positive buildings in the region, producing up to 140% clean energy.
