Unique Group signs exclusive agreement with Otaq Offshore

Rental agreement will allow Unique Group to provide customised integrated solutions for its clients across the Middle East, APAC and the Americas

Offshore solutions provider Unique Group has signed an exclusive rental agreement with UK-based Otaq Offshore to represent Otaq’s technology and products across the Middle East, APAC and the Americas.

Under the terms of the rental agreement, Otaq Group will support customer activities in the offshore energy, aquaculture, commercial diving, defence and oceanographic research industries worldwide. It is also an expert in engineering and manufacturing underwater leak detection systems, laser measurement and video processing technologies.

According to the statement, Unique Group said that the addition of Otaq products to its diverse portfolio of survey equipment solidifies its consistent effort to provide customised integrated solutions to clients.

He stated that Unique Group will also represent Otaq’s new Eagle IP range of high-quality IP ethernet underwater HD cameras and IP integration infrastructure products. This equipment, along with several additional specialist systems, will be made available to clients through Unique Group offices located in partnered regions, he added.

According to the agreement, Unique Group will represent industry-renowned technologies, including the OceanSENSE and DragonFish solutions.

The OceanSENSE technology is recognised as the industry standard to be deployed for subsea leak and cement returns detection and has been successful on over 1,000 offshore projects globally, Unique Group said. Meanwhile, the DragonFish technology has proved to work efficiently in offshore environment while its high precision laser measurement system generates sub-millimetric measurements of welds, chains and other targets from a low-cost easy-to-operate package, the company stated.

Additionally, Phil Newby, CEO of Otaq Offshore, said: “Following a period of rapid expansion for Otaq over the last 12 months, we are excited to collaborate with Unique Group to further bolster our presence in the Middle East, APAC and the Americas.”

He concluded that they are also excited to provide best-in-class leak detection and underwater laser measurement technologies for their customers.
