Jaguar Land Rover begins construction of new parts centre in Jebel Ali
The company has operated a regional aftermarket Parts Distribution Centre in Jebel Ali since 2014
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has broken ground on its new Parts Distribution Centre in Jebel Ali, Dubai. The centre is designed to serve customers across the Middle East and North Africa and is scheduled to open for business in the first quarter of 2021.
As per a statement, the centre will allow JLR to meet its projected growth in demand for parts and accessories over the next decade and beyond. The demand is driven by an increase in the number of cars joining the region’s roads, the automaker says.
JLR states that the new facility will gradually inherit operations from the current site in November 2020, to ensure minimal disruption to customers.
“This is a key element of our regional expansion plans as we recognise the importance of offering first-class aftersales service, an essential ingredient of which is rapid parts supply. The new facility with its increased storage capacity ensures that our retail partners, and subsequently our customers, will always receive a fast and efficient response, whatever model they own. Demonstrating our long-term commitment to the MENA region, this new distribution centre has been developed to keep pace with the projected growth of the market in the years to come. It will also makes sure that as our reach widens, we’ll maintain an exceptional service for Jaguar Land Rover’s discerning customers across the region,” said Bruce Robertson, MD of Jaguar Land Rover MENA.
According to JLR, the centre will boast 19,000sqm of storage capacity, with the option to expand to 30,000sqm in the future. The added space will allow the automaker to hold and distribute approximately 32,000 part numbers, including branded merchandise from the luxury marque.
The new facility will be responsible for all inbound, warehousing, scheduling, and distribution tasks, and will streamline the flow of parts to retail partners across the region, enhancing customer service, JLR notes.
Paul Lane, customer service director, Jaguar Land Rover MENA added, “The entire range of Jaguar Land Rover parts and accessories is available through our distributors in nine regional markets, and supplying them all is a big operation. We’ll be better equipped to do so with the increased capacity, which further cements our ‘customer first’ commitment through the timely availability of genuine Jaguar Land Rover components. We always emphasise the importance of choosing original parts and accessories for any model in our portfolio, as they come with a seal of authenticity. This enables us and our distributors to honour warranties on our products, leaving our customers with total peace of mind while saving them money.”
