Abu Dhabi’s ITC completes $896mn in infrastructure projects
ITC registered 2.3m transport-related transactions in 2019
$896 million in infrastructure projects have been completed by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) according to Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport.
Discussing the ITC’s achievements, the Department said the centre completed a development project in the Zayed Port Area (main tunnel) at a cost of $365 million.
The ITC also completed the Abu Dhabi International Airport Road Network Interchange Project at a cost of $192 million, linking the new terminal to the Abu Dhabi-Shahama highway (E10) and providing direct access to and from the terminal towards Abu Dhabi, as well as Dubai and Al Ain.
The Al Mirfa – Madinat Zayed Project in the Al Dhafra Region was highlighted as well. It was developed by ITC at a cost of $173 million besides the rehabilitation of the Saih Shuaib-Al Faya Road (E75) at a cost of $13.6 million.
Numerous other project completions were also highlighted. The ITC stated that it registered a total of 2.3 million transport-related transactions in 2019, a 39% increase compared to 2018.
ITC notes that it added several new services in 2019, including the People of Determination parking permit, traffic management permit request (offered to contractors, developers and consultants) for road diversions, and registering on the Abu Dhabi Toll Gate System that was activated in 2019.
