The Expo 2020 Dubai Luxembourg pavilion has reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jumeirah Group for the operation of a restaurant in the Luxembourg pavilion. The agreement was inked by Maggy Nagel, commissioner general of Luxembourg at Expo 2020 Dubai, and Linda Lewis, vice president of global sales for MEASA and the Asia region at Jumeirah Hospitality.
The $32 million pavilion located within the Opportunity District was the first country to sign the participation contract with the Expo 2020 organisers and among the first to start construction work. The Luxembourg pavilion can accommodate 500 attendees and will be over 50 m wide.
Cooperation with the renowned international hotel chain provides for the provision of full catering services by Jumeirah, with the direct involvement of Luxembourg chef Kim Kevin de Doodt and the support of students from the Luxembourg Hotel and Tourism School (EHTL) of Diekirch.
According to a statement, the partnership is based on the exchange of knowledge and allows students and members of the teaching staff, cooking and restaurant service of the EHTL to participate in training cycles on tableware. The partnership was concluded for a period of five years.
Meanwhile another MoU was inked between the EHTL and the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, based in Dubai and associated with the Lausanne Hotel School in Switzerland. The agreement allows EHTL students and teachers to access the EAHM accommodation facilities for the duration of their stay in Dubai.
The partnership agreements that were concluded between Luxembourg and key UAE entities will enable the Luxembourg pavilion to function optimally during the duration of the exhibition, according to the statement.
