4,200 residential plots have been distributed to citizens by Dubai Municipality over the past two years. The plots were in Nad Al Sheba-1, Umm Nahd, Al Aweer, Al Khawaneej, Wadi Al Shabak, Mushrif, and parts of Al Warqa.
As per a report on WAM, suitable residential plots can be chosen via an application that can be downloaded for Android or iOS devices. Dawood Al Hajri, director general of Dubai Municipality said that the municipality is keeping pace with the government’s directions to convert all services to smart, and simplify them, for the benefit of citizens.
Al Hajri pointed out that the municipality is eager to meet the needs of citizens and provide residential plots for them. He stated that the municipality is constantly studying citizens’ requests for land to build houses, and that it ensures that supporting infrastructure and other services are provided in those areas.
He noted that the population growth witnessed by the emirate requires the Dubai Municipality to continuously plan residential areas to cover citizens’ requests. Al Hajri pointed out that all areas will be provided with all the necessary facilities, in addition to the various services such as mosques, schools, playgrounds, parks, commercial centres, health centres, public library, and other necessary services.
Al Hajri also revealed that the municipality will announce more than 40 playgrounds and neighbourhood parks in citizens’ housing areas in 2020.
The Dubai Municipality previously announced the completion of all stadiums and neighbourhood parks in the nine planning areas that were directed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
