Big Project ME Award Winners 2012

Big Project Middle East held the 2012 edition of its awards at the Burj Khalifa’s Armani Ballroom on Tuesday night.

A total of sixteen award categories were up for grabs, with some of the region’s biggest and brightest construction firms competing for recognition from within the industry.

The list of winners in full is:

Best Water Conservation Project: Dutco Balfour Beatty

Dutco Balfour Beatty wins the Best Water Conservation Project award.

 

Energy Efficiency Project of the Year: Siemens

Kay Zwingenberger, CEO of Siemens, picks up the award for Energy Efficiency Project of the Year.

 

Green Building Project of the Year: RW Armstrong

Laurent Haddad and RW Armstrong colleagues are presented the Green Building Project award by William Whistler.

 

Sustainable Solution of the Year: Unibeton

CPI publishing director, Raz Islam, picks up the Sustainable Solution of the Year award on Unibeton’s behalf.

 

Young Engineer of the Year: Whitney J Morris, project engineer, Desimone

Architect of the Year: David Ardill, director, Sheppard Robson International

 

Construction Machinery ME Award – Brand of the Year: Volvo Construction Equipment

Paul Floyd picks up the award for Brand of the Year from CPI group editor, Stephen White.

 

Civil Development Project of the Year: Jeddah Municipality

His Excellency, Dr. Hani Mohammad Aburas, Mayor of Jeddah, with Raz Islam, publishing director of CPI Construction.

 

Project Manager of the Year: RW Armstrong

RW Armstrong with the Project Manager of the Year award.

 

MEP Contractor of the Year: Emirates Trading Agency (ETA)

ETA with their MEP Contractor of the Year.

 

Outstanding Development of the Year: DAMAC Properties

Paul Floyd presents DAMAC with the award for Outstanding Development of the Year.

 

Quantity Surveyor of the Year: Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi Emirate

The Department of Transport’s Ihab El Khatib receives the award for Quantity Surveyor of the Year.

 

Iconic Structure of the Year: Hill International

Hill International picked up the Iconic Structure of the Year award for its Etihad Towers project.

 

Consultant of the Year: Hyder Consulting

 

Developer of the Year: Sorouh Real Estate

Sorouh Real Estate nabbed Developer of the Year at the awards.

 

Contractor of the Year: SIX Construct

Contractor of the Year went to SIX Construct.
