India’s L&T wins key GCC-based infrastructure projects
Company’s key subsidiaries win projects in UAE, India and the wider Middle East
Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the Indian engineering and construction firm, has announced that its key subsidiaries have secured orders from high-profile clients in the GCC region and India, for its varied businesses.
The first contract is in the UAE, for the design, supply and construction of a 132kV substation project along with an associated 132kV cabling works for one of the government utilities in the Emirates. This project was won by the construction arm of L&T, a statement from the Indian giant said.
Additional orders have also been won on ongoing projects in the Middle East, it added.
The company’s Transportation Infrastructure business has also won a major add-on order for an existing client, for an expressway project. L&T units have also clinched various add-on orders through existing projects in the Water and Effluent Treatment (WET) and Metallurgical and Material Handling (MMH) businesses, the statement continued.
For the Indian contract win, L&T said that it has won an empanelment and rate contract in Maharashtra. This was awarded to the firm to provide off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems with standalone lighting systems for farmers in Aurangabad, Nashik and Pune revenue divisions.
These systems will have a provision for mobile charging, transfer of automated meter reading and water discharge reading data, it said.
