Dewan wins Al Bayt contract

Abu Dhabi firm to design mixed use development in Al Khobar

Dewan Architects and Engineers, the Abu Dhabi based firm, has announced that it has been awarded the Al Bayt 57 Mixed Used development in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Situated along the King Saud Road and in close proximity to Al Kohbar’s waterfront promenade, Al Bayt 57 is part of a massive development by Al Bayt, the Saudi Arabian real estate developer. The mixed use project will consist of nine 22 storey towers, which will include a branded five star hotel and 1,500 luxury apartments.

“Al Bayt has chosen to partner with Dewan based on their extensive experience and prominent design capabilities to deliver our latest and most prominent development to date,” the developer said in a statement.

The project will occupy a prime 40,000m2 with a gross floor area of approximately 50,000m2. In addition, Grade A commercial office space and a ‘Galleria’ retail mall of 25,000m2, will be developed. The entire development will rest atop a two storey podium and a basement which, along with the ground floor, will accommodate 2,500 cars and other amenities.

The development will be designed with the environment in mind and will have both passive and active energy management systems in place to deliver a sustainable and energy efficient project.

“The unique design, composition, size and grandeur of Al Bayt 57 Mixed Use development will define it one of the Kingdom’s most iconic projects. We are proud of working with Al Bayt and of the design of this complex, which will marry world-class facilities with high quality-of-life, environmentally friendly living spaces, all alongside an outstanding retail address.”

“As a whole, it will serve as a benchmark for many future developments in the region,” said Ammar Al Assam, executive director of Dewan Architects.
