The high number of mega projects recently announced will be high on the agenda for the contractors and government officials, both from Russian and the GCC. They will be able to assess first-hand the investment and joint venture opportunities generated by these projects
“These projects are high-profile, multi-billion dollar projects that will be a key contributor to the tourism facilities and infrastructure development and attempts to diversify the local economy. The plethora of contracts and investment opportunities these projects are going to offer is enormous and will surely be on the top of the agenda of the Russia-GCC Business Forum,” said Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, director-general, Expo Centre Sharjah.
The largest project unveiled recently is Mohammed Bin Rashid City, 100 hotels, the world’s biggest shopping mall and a Universal Studios theme park as well as a park bigger than London’s Hyde Park.
Another mega project, a $2.7bn entertainment complex in Jebel Ali will feature five theme parks. Other projects announced recently include a $1bn replica of the Taj Mahal and a canal connecting Dubai’s business district to the sea.
