Reed Smith expanding as it heads to new offices in DIFC
Relocation reflects law firm’s continued growth in the Middle East, says Reed Smith
Reed Smith says the relocation of its Dubai offices to a prominent space in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) reflects the firm’s continued commitment to strengthen its Middle East presence.
The law firm added that the new premises will accommodate its growing team of diverse legal practitioners.
Sachin Kerur, Michelle Nelson and Shourav Lahiri all joined Reed Smith in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in July 2018. More recently, partners Mahmoud Awad, and Amir Ahmad were hired to increase the firm’s commercial disputes and financing capabilities.
The full-service law firm says it has also seen, “an increased demand predominantly for projects and construction services in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and recently hired Rachel Larkin as new construction legal director. Rachel joins the team, previously working as senior legal counsel within a well-known family owned conglomerate based in Dubai.”
The expansion of the team has led to the need for a newer and larger workspace, resulting in an office move to Index Tower, one of the most prominent office addresses in the heart of the (DIFC).
Commenting on the expansion, Sachin Kerur, head of the Middle East region for Reed Smith, said of the office move to Index Tower: “The construction market continues to grow, and we will continue to grow with it. We welcome Rachel to Reed Smith; she is a great example of the high calibre lawyers we want to be a part of our growing global construction offering.”
“Our new office further strengthens our presence in the Middle East and underlines our ongoing commitment to better serve our regional and global client base. We look forward to growing alongside our clients as we partner to meet their business priorities in the UAE and across the MENA [Middle East and North Africa] region”.
