Danube Group installs solar power plant at its manufacturing facility in TechnoPark

CleanMax Solar will operate the 1200 kWp rooftop solar PV plant for Danube

India’s CleanMax Solar has announced that it has completed the installation of a 1200 kWp rooftop solar PV power plant for Danube’s four buildings at Dubai TechnoPark.

According to a statement from CleanMax, the plant is expected to save the company, $81,673 annually, on electricity bills. The project was implemented under DEWA’a Shams Dubai initiative and uses the build, own and operate model, CleanMax stated.

For the purpose of this project, Danube would pay for the solar power as and when it is generated while the PV panels would be owned and operated by CleanMax. With the rooftop plant, Danube can reduce 845 tons of CO2 per annum which is equivalent to greenhouse gases emitted by more than 163 passenger vehicles driven for an entire year.

Commenting on the project, Danube Group’s founder and chairman, Rizwan Sajan, said: “Thanks to the wise leadership, the UAE has decided to diversify its energy mix in order to sustain its progress and at the same time minimise the environmental impact that may arise from burning fuel.”

“Keeping this in mind, visionary government of UAE launched Dubai Clean Energy Strategy. Under this strategy, they aim to have 25 per cent of solar energy in the energy mix by 2030. We completely support this vision and are aligning our business objectives towards achieving a sustainable future.”

“Clean energy transition is no longer an option, but a necessity and Danube Group is proud to associate with CleanMax Solar.”

Meanwhile, Sushant Arora, co-founder and CEO for CleanMax Solar (MENA), said: “At CleanMax Solar, we are committed towards promoting the UAE government’s vision of delivering solar energy solutions.”

“Buildings are among the highest consumers of power and renowned companies like the Danube Group are adopting solar energy to achieve the twin benefits of profit improvement and carbon footprint reduction,” he added.
