ELM wins construction contract for Barraquer-UAE Eye Hospital

Grandis Investment Company has awarded the main construction contract for the Barraquer-UAE Eye Hospital to Abu Dhabi-based company, Emirates Link Maltauro (ELM). Grandis Investment is also financing the project.

According to the statement from ELM, the new hospital will be a debut for Barraquer in the Middle east market.

The announcement comes after the completion of the foundation construction in phase two of Dubai Healthcare City overlooking Al Khail Road.

The Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, is one of the leading eye clinics worldwide, and has been providing cutting-edge research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of eye diseases and providing comprehensive eye care to patients, ELM said in the statement.

Commenting on the new project in UAE, Prof Rafael Barraquer, deputy medical director and Dr Elena Barraquer, president of the Elena Barraquer Foundation at Barraquer’s Barcelona, said: “Our UAE launch is a testament to our commitment to providing eye care of the highest quality to patients around the world.”
