GHESA, a Spanish company specialising in the design and installation of ornamental and cybernetic musical water features and multimedia shows, has announced that it has completed work on Sharjah’s Rolla Park fountains.

The project involved the design and installation of five water features for Rolla Park, and included guidelines for low water consumption and environmentally friendly lighting, GHESA said.

With nearly 50 years of experience in the water feature business, the Spanish firm was selected to work on the project for its ability to create new designs, while preserving the emirate’s heritage and Islamic architectural style.

Previous projects include the largest floating multimedia fountain in the Middle East and the 187 water features for the Princess Noura University for Women in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Rolla Park is considered a historical site in Sharjah, having traditionally provided a meeting point for UAE citizens during national celebrations and other special occasions. Due to the significant role it has played in Sharjah’s history, the emirate’s municipality decided to develop and improve the area.
