Emaar Development, the property arm of Emaar Properties has awarded the contract for the construction of the new Marina Vista project, which is being developed as part of Dubai Harbour, to China State Construction Engineering Corporation Middle East (CSCEC ME).
Located along the Emaar Beach Front, the project consists of two residentials buildings, 35-storey and 45-storey towers. Scope of work includes mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works, according to a statement by CSCEC ME.
Emaar’s Marina Vista has a construction area of 120,000 sqm and is set to open in October 2020. Additionally, Dubai Harbour consists of several other attractions, such as a 1400-berth marina, a cruise ship port and terminal, a 325,000 sqm shopping mall, an events arena, hotels, offices, retail stores, F&B outlets and a 135 m tall lighthouse.
Meanwhile, Meraas had recently awarded the contract for the cruise terminal to ASGC, which once completed is expected to be the most advanced in the Middle East.
ASGC’s scope of work includes the construction of two main cruise terminal buildings, in addition to service buildings, a central unit building with all associated fit-out works, external works, and all fixtures, fittings and equipment.
Vishal Bhan, Project Manager at ASGC told MECN that ASGC has been involved with the project since its design stage to provide inputs on value engineering and reach the cost targets set for the construction of the terminal.
“We, of course, took all the necessary measurements and were involved in the project at a very early stage to ensure that the project is delivered at its best.”
“The timeline is tight, but we like to challenge ourselves and even push to deliver more than expected,” Bhan added.
Located between Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Residence, Meraas states that once completed, the Dubai Harbour will enhance the position of Dubai as a leading global hub for maritime tourism.
