Geberit Gulf debuts 2019 product range at glitzy Dubai event

The Geberit Gulf Regional office proudly unveiled the 2019 new products at the chic rooftop SoBe restaurant. W Hotel Palm Jumeirah.  Alongside the excitement of the new products the invited guests were able to enjoy 360° vistas with a stunning sunset and after dusk the glittering lights of the Marina in the balmy evening breeze. Art deco colours flank street art, roaming entertainers snaking through the venue to the beats Miami South Beach vibes all added to the success of the evening.

The new elegance: The Geberit actuator plate Sigma50 has been refined

Geometric clarity combined with aesthetic curves: The further development of the popular Geberit actuator plate Sigma50 sees a new elegance enter the bathroom. The elegantly stripped-down design and the high-quality materials blend in perfectly in clear, modern bathrooms.

The two ergonomic buttons for activating the dual flush remain characteristic features of the Geberit actuator plate Sigma50. Minor adjustments to the dimensioning of these raised, curved buttons lead to light reflections that give the Sigma50 an even lighter appearance.

“The actuator plate itself is frameless and available in different colours and materials, the latter ranging from glass, plastic and metal right through to slate. The actuator plate can be optionally equipped with the Geberit DuoFresh module for extracting odours” says Gabriel Nasser, Managing Director Rep. Gulf Office.

Other functions to choose from include a night-time orientation light and an insert for in-cistern sticks.

Bringing a smile into the bathroom: The Geberit bathroom series Smyle now has a new look.

The redesigned Geberit bathroom series Smyle has an even more delicate and modern look. The design of the washbasins and furniture is coordinated in such a way that individual combinations are possible. The medium cabinets can be combined in different ways depending on the customer’s requirements. Thanks to the option of open or closed storage space, these cabinets offer a great deal of creative freedom in line with the customer’s personal preference and bathroom size.

Geberit has radically revamped the Smyle bathroom series. The most striking change is the new design of the furniture, which was adapted to the form of the ceramic sanitary appliances as part of the facelift. The handles now mirror the contour of the washbasins in terms of their ornate lines and continue their design language. This manifests itself in the rounded edges on the simple yet modernly designed profile handles, which have the same colour as the furniture. The ceramic sanitary appliances from the Geberit Smyle bathroom series have a very lightweight appearance. Ornate lines, harmonious shapes and narrow rims on the washbasins contrast with the functional inner basins and the generous shelf surfaces at the rear of the washbasin.

“The slightly rounded edges on the handles – which represent a seamless transition from the washbasin to the cabinet – are new,” says Gabriel Nassar from Geberit. “The handles form a unified whole with the narrow rims on the ceramic sanitary appliances. Creative freedom was particularly important to us, and we achieved this by offering diverse combination possibilities.”

Designers can mix and match the furniture according to the customer’s wishes. For example, the medium cabinets can be combined in different ways and offer a great deal of creative freedom thanks to the option of open or closed storage space. Using the open or closed medium cabinets and low cabinets results in individual bathroom designs.

The medium cabinet also impresses thanks to its glass shelves and the mirror on the inside of the door. The classy glass tops – which also protect the furniture against scratches – are the same colour as the furniture, or lava in the case of wood finishes.

The new wall-hung WC is the epitome of modern bathroom design. Thanks to its square design language, it combines perfectly with the square washbasins, while its shrouded outer shape makes it even easier to clean. Geberit offers the WC seats in a slim design, either in a sandwich shape or as an overlapping seat. To ensure exceptional hygiene, the seats can be easily removed for cleaning via the QuickRelease hinges.

The bathroom series will be available from April 2019.

New Geberit DuoFresh module: Unpleasant odours in the toilet are a thing of the past

If you don’t want to put up with the unpleasant smells left behind by those who last used the toilet – or to leave behind such smells yourself – the best solution is for the unpleasant odours to be immediately extracted and neutralised. The new Geberit DuoFresh module does exactly that – and a few other things besides. It fits in all Geberit Sigma cisterns and allows a variety of options when it comes to choosing an actuator plate. Provided there is a mains connection, the module can also be retrofitted in most Geberit concealed cisterns that have been installed in the last ten years.

Unpleasant toilet odours in the bathroom can be easily avoided. In newer bathrooms with a cistern from Geberit, it is very probable that the toilet can be retrofitted with an odour extraction – and all with minimal effort. This added comfort should definitely be considered when building a new bathroom or renovating an existing one.

The Geberit DuoFresh module extracts the air directly from the WC ceramic appliance through the same pipe through which the flush water enters the toilet. This is extremely effective, as it prevents unpleasant odours from spreading throughout the bathroom in the first place, rendering air fresheners, lighting matches, opening windows and the like completely unnecessary. Thanks to a proximity sensor, the odour extraction always switches on automatically as soon as someone sits down on the toilet. The odour extraction unit is therefore also a great idea for guest WCs.

The module’s electronics, including its fan and filter, are installed behind the actuator plate by a specialist. A sophisticated mechanism ensures that this plate can be pushed to the side with a flick of the wrist, providing easy access to an insert for in-cistern sticks as well as to the ceramic honeycomb filter, the latter of which has to be replaced periodically.

The Geberit DuoFresh module offers additional comfort thanks to an LED orientation light. This is located behind the actuator plate and shines a discreet, indirect light into the room – exactly what you need when visiting the toilet at night. The orientation light is switched on and off by the proximity sensor together with the odour extraction unit’s fan.

Also a retrofit solution

The new Geberit DuoFresh module can be installed in all concealed cisterns from the Sigma range. In addition to an air filtration system, it also has an orientation light and an insert for in-cistern blocks. Under certain conditions, existing toilet systems can also be retrofitted with the odour extraction unit.

A customer would like to equip their toilet with an odour extraction. The concealed system is just a few years old and a look at the building plans confirms that a conduit pipe for a subsequent mains connection was also installed alongside the Geberit Sigma concealed cistern. This is the ideal starting point when it comes to selling and retrofitting the new Geberit DuoFresh module.

In principle, it is easiest to include the Geberit DuoFresh module when the sanitary technology is being installed, i.e. when building or renovating the bathroom. However, this is often not done in practice for a number of reasons. What is undeniable, however, is that end users appreciate the effects of comfort functions such as odour-free, fresh air in a modern, new bathroom.

Properties and functions

With this in mind, Geberit developed a new odour extraction module. It is suitable for new buildings and renovation projects and can also be retrofitted. A concealed cistern from the Geberit Sigma range is a technical requirement. Retrofitting is possible with the Geberit Sigma concealed cistern 12 cm (manufactured from 2008) and the Geberit Sigma concealed cistern 8 cm (manufactured from 2016).

The Geberit DuoFresh module removes unpleasant odours directly from the WC ceramic appliance. It extracts the air through the flush pipe and flush valve, purifies it using a ceramic honeycomb filter and then returns it to the room. It also offers the following functions:

Installation and consumables

Installation is simple and well thought out. The only requirement is a connection to the 230 V power supply system.

Retrofitting possible with existing concealed installations

The Geberit DuoFresh module is an innovative and effective solution for removing odours from toilets. It does so by extracting the air directly from the toilet through the flush pipe and flush valve and purifying it using a ceramic honeycomb filter. The odour extraction unit can be easily installed in any Geberit Sigma cistern and can be combined with almost any actuator plate from the Sigma range. Provided a suitable cistern and a mains connection are available, it can also be easily retrofitted.

The Geberit DuoFresh module has an insert for in-cistern sticks, a proximity sensor and an orientation light. The proximity sensor ensures that the air extraction and orientation light are automatically switched on and off. The module’s transformer requires a connection to the 230 V power supply system. It is also available as a basic model without a proximity sensor and orientation light. It is switched on and off manually via a power switch installed by an electrician (coupled with the light switch in the bathroom, for example).

Optimised and even more beautiful: The new Geberit AquaClean Sela shower toilet offers more convenience and a more elegant design

An elegant shower toilet that looks like a normal WC – since its market launch in 2013, the Geberit AquaClean Sela has been very popular among building owners and end users. Now Geberit replaces the previous AquaClean Sela with a new model, which features a new take on the timeless, minimalist style and an even more beautiful design. Furthermore, the high-quality shower toilet has been enhanced with additional optimised functions and now offers an increased sense of well-being.

Created by designer Christoph Behling, the new AquaClean Sela is the latest addition to the Geberit AquaClean product range. It is an elegant, stylish shower toilet that fits into almost any bathroom environment. Its timeless, minimalist design and clear style make it look like a work of art in the bathroom. Featuring innovative technology, the Geberit AquaClean Sela ensures gentle intimate cleaning and an enhanced sense of personal well-being.

The latest product in the AquaClean range epitomises the highest quality standards and provides the classic functions of a Geberit shower toilet. These functions include the unique WhirlSpray shower technology, which enables pleasant and thorough cleaning with low water consumption. The recently optimised TurboFlush flush technology allows the WC ceramic to be flushed out particularly thoroughly yet very quietly. This means that you can flush the toilet at any time without any disruptive noises – even at night! A subtle orientation light is just bright enough to guide the user at night and makes it easier to get back to sleep afterwards. The intelligent technology for the spray functionality and all connections for electrical and water supply are beautifully integrated into the body of the ceramic appliance. With its rimless WC ceramic, the Geberit AquaClean Sela ensures perfect hygiene and makes cleaning a great deal easier.

Thanks to the intuitive remote control, all inputs can be made easily with one hand. The push of a button is all it takes to call up the personal settings. As with all Geberit shower toilets, the AquaClean Sela functions can also be conveniently controlled via smartphone with the Geberit app. In addition, the new shower toilet offers user recognition which uses a sensor to prevent the shower spray from being triggered inadvertently.

The new Geberit AquaClean Sela will be available from 1 April 2019 from leading sanitary retailers in the region.

Space savings thanks to optimised waste water hydraulics

In high-rise buildings, the ventilation pipes in the drainage systems take up a great deal of space. With the new Geberit SuperTube technology, it is now possible to dispense with the ventilation pipes entirely. This is in addition to the possibility of smaller pipe diameters, with the discharge capacity still reaching almost the same levels as those seen in conventional systems. It is also possible to install horizontal pipes with a length of up to six metres without a slope. Geberit SuperTube is available from April 2019.

Hydraulically optimised: The two new bends and the Sovent fitting are the core elements of Geberit SuperTube technology and come together to ensure a continuous column of air is maintained in the drainage system.

A continuous column of air is key when it comes to achieving added space and reduced complexity when planning drainage systems in high-rise buildings. This is made possible thanks to the new Geberit SuperTube technology, which is based on the Geberit Sovent fitting and two flow-optimised bends. Thanks to the Geberit PE Sovent fitting and the two new bends, a continuous column of air is created, rendering additional ventilation pipes unnecessary.

“The Geberit PE Sovent fitting causes the waste water to rotate and, in doing so, generates a continuous column of air. This increases the discharge capacity while at the same time having relatively small pipe dimensions,” comments Gabriel Nassar from Geberit. “Normally when there is a change in direction, this column of air collapses and ventilation pipes are necessary. With our two new bends – the Geberit PE BottomTurn bend and the Geberit PE BackFlip bend – we have now rectified this problem. Both new bends ensure that the column of air is maintained even when there is a change in direction and that ventilation pipes can be dispensed with.”

Maintaining the column of air when there is a change in direction

The two bends ensure that the column of air is now maintained even when there is a change in direction, thus guaranteeing proper ventilation as before. The integrated flow divider in the Geberit PE BottomTurn bend ensures that the annular flow in the stack is converted into a layered flow before the change in direction. The air column thus also remains stable in the horizontal line system. At the end of the horizontal pipe, the Geberit PE BackFlip bend with its special design gives the waste water a swirl, thus guiding it back into an annular flow once again without disrupting the air column.

“Wherever building owners, architects and sanitary engineers seek to achieve the maximum possible living space, the planning of the drainage system becomes particularly interesting,” comments Gabriel Nassar from Geberit. “With Geberit SuperTube technology, space savings can be made and the complexity reduced, as it is no longer necessary to plan or install parallel ventilation pipes.”

Space-saving and powerful

The combination of PE Sovent and the new bends with SuperTube technology allows sanitary engineers to build pipe ducts with significantly smaller dimensions. With SuperTube, narrower pipe diameters are also possible, and the ducts can be reduced in size through the absence of the ventilation pipes. This now also applies to the ceilings as well. Horizontal pipes with a length of up to six metres can now be installed continuously without a slope when connecting to the collector pipe. This means that the ceiling suspension can be attached very close to the concrete ceiling, with the system achieving a high discharge rate of up to 12 litres per second. A further advantage for sanitary engineers is the reduced complexity when planning a continuous pipeline.

With Geberit SuperTube technology, sanitary engineers can implement drainage systems without ventilation pipes in future. Plumbers also benefit here – thanks to the omission of the ventilation pipe and the use of smaller pipe dimensions, they require less pipe material and make speedier progress on the building site.
