Safellift opens new Abu Dhabi premises

New location offers integrated workshop, parts warehouse, training and yard facilities as firm targets oil & gas sector

UAE powered access rental major, Safelift, has inaugurated its new premises in Abu Dhabi, which will form the central node of the company’s operations as it targets the oil & gas sector.

Occupying a total area of 3250sqm, the new facility is located in the M15 area of the UAE capital’s Mussafah Industrial Area. The premises includes a 929sqm workshop, offices, yard and a warehouse for parts, said Wayne Taylor, managing director, Safelift.

“We’ve been looking for a long time for a suitable yard that we can grow into after expanding our fleet and operations. We’ve outgrown our last premises and when we saw this one, we thought it lends itself very well to our business and we can expand into this. Being in the middle of the petroleum sector here in the M15 area of Mussafah, we are also near prospective oil & gas customers – a sector we are increasingly looking to target,” said Taylor.

“We also offer specialist training here in our new facility, where we do both PASMA and IPAF training. The training facilities are integrated into the office.”

Taylor added that Safelift was doing a lot of work now for customers in Ruwais and Abu Dhabi’s Western Region, and “that’s our focus this year – to push more into the oil & gas areas”.

“Our fleet is a mixture of all the top manufacturers. We have equipment from Skyjack, Genie, Snorkel, JLG, and Niftylift, with a mixture of diesel scissors, diesel booms, bi-fuel booms, electric scissors and also low-level equipment up to 5m.”

Paul Richards, partner, Safelift, added: “We can offer the full package, from the equipment to training at the highest levels, as well as on-the-job support. We’re a one-stop shop for efficient and safe working at height. Safelift has made the right moves at the right time in terms of putting in place the appropriate machines, technologies and qualified people, staying abreast of the latest developments and innovations in the field of MEWPs.”

Dr. Ali Saeed Al Ameri, chairman of Al Shoumoukh Group, Safelift’s UAE sponsor, said: “Safelift is a successful enterprise that has grown consistently over the years. We started with 12 machines that arrived in our first container and since then the company has expanded to a fleet of several hundred machines now. It is one of the most successful ventures in the Al Shoumoukh group of companies.”
