Christie named as a partner for Expo 2020 Dubai
The firm operates in more than 20 countries and first set-up its regional base in 2007
AV specialist Christie has been appointed as the ‘Official Displays and Projection Partner’ for Expo 2020 Dubai. The firm will be responsible for creating ‘life-like visuals on Al Wasl Plaza dome to provide an unparalleled visual experience across the entire Expo 2020 site’.
The organisers of Expo 2020 say that visitors are in for a treat when they visit the Expo site as more than 250 specialist laser projectors will illuminate the dome. The projections will be visible from the sky, the organisers note.
“We aim to create an unrivalled experience at Expo 2020 and spectacular visuals on the giant Al Wasl Plaza dome will be an iconic part of this. Christie is a trailblazer in this field and we anticipate an array of memorable displays across the Expo site thanks to Christie’s innovative technologies,” said Ahmed Al Khatib, chief development and delivery officer at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Christie says it will showcase its laser projection technology and will use more than 250 of its D4K40-RGB projectors to ‘create life-like evolving scenes on Al Wasl Plaza’s 130-metre-wide projection surface, which can also be seen from the sky’.
