LTHE wins Tawfiq Coke Products deal

Larsen & Toubro Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited (LTHE) has been awarded a major deal from Taqfiq Coke Products in Oman. The deal is estimated to be worth between $362 million to $723.4 million and is said to reinforce LTHE’s operations in Oman.

LTHE will act as a technology licensor, in addition to providing front-end engineering design (FEED) and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a 2 x 225,000TPA plant of calcined coke from green pet coke, the company said in its statement.

The firm said that process facilities on the project include material handling, a rotary kiln and cooler, combustion chamber, gas separation and associated off-site and utilities packages.

The EPC contract was awarded to set up three central processing facilities (CPF) at Hassi Ba Hamou and Reg Mouaded Field with a six million metric standard cubic meter per day (MMSCMD) capacity, Hassi Tidjerane Field with four MMSCMD capacity and Tinerkouk Field with four MMSCMD capacity in Algeria.

Last month, LTHE also won a project order worth up to $1.015 billion from Sonatrach in Algeria.
