Saipem wins contracts worth $1.3bn from Saudi Aramco
The contract is for EPIC works to develop offshore fields
Italian oil and gas industry contractor, Saipem has been awarded two contracts worth $1.3 billion to develop offshore fields in Berri and Marjan by Saudi Aramco.
The contract has been awarded for engineering, procurement, installation and construction (EPIC) as part of the long-term agreement for offshore activities in Saudi Arabia, renewed in 2015 and in force till 2021, according to a statement from Saipem.
The two contracts awarded by Aramco refer to the development of offshore fields in Berri and Marjan, located in the Arabian Gulf, which are among the most important offshore fields in the region, the company said.
Saipem also said that the contract includes the design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation and implementation of subsea systems in addition to the laying of pipelines, subsea cables and umbilicals, platform decks and jackets.
