ADM and EGA to build new Abu Dhabi sports stadium

An agreement has been signed by Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) and Emirates Global Aluminium Company (EGA), which will see the construction of a sports stadium in Al Samha.

According to a report by WAM, the initiative is intended to ‘bring happiness to community members, provide a better living experience, promote the values of social responsibility and contribute to the overall sustainable development seen by Abu Dhabi’.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Saif Bader Al Qubaisi, general manager of Abu Dhabi City Municipality, and Dr Ali Al Zarouni, deputy executive director of Production, Technology Development and Transfer at EGA.

“This agreement epitomises the commitment of the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities – Abu Dhabi City Municipality to foster partnerships and cooperation with key institutions. It also comes in the context of activating the values of communal responsibility, utilising them in community service and development, and building infrastructure and entertainment facilities,” said Al Qubaisi.

Following the signing of the MoU, Al Qubaisi thanked Emirates Global Aluminium Company for its role in serving the community and its keenness to cheer up people by providing such a sports facility.

“The EGA is a flagship of development and community service as evidenced by the two parks it has already established in Samaha as part of its core values and objectives. It also reflects EGA’s commitment to social responsibility where such development projects are turned into reality to delight the community,” Al Qubaisi added.

Dr Al Zarouni concluded, “Our partnership with Abu Dhabi City Municipality is a part of our effort to fulfil our social responsibility by supporting local communities and neighbouring areas. We hope that such facilities would add up to the public services in Al Samha, improve the cityscape and promote a healthy lifestyle for the residents.”
