Musanada begins $78.4mn construction of two school projects
The school projects will cover a total area of 117,000sqm
Musanada, an Abu Dhabi General Services Company has started the construction of two school projects in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain valued at $78.4 million.
The Mohamed bin Zayed School in Abu Dhabi and the Jebel Hafeet School in Al Ain will cover a total area of 117,000 sqm and will be able to accommodate 4,040 students in 147 classrooms.
According to the report, the Mohamed bin Zayed School is for boys only and will cost $46.2 million and is part of the Abu Dhabi Future Schools Programme (ADFSP), Phase 7, Package 1. Musanada plans to hand over the school by Q4 2019.
Explaining more about the school, Saleh Al Ali, portfolio director at Musanada said: “The school will be constructed on an overall area of more than 25,900 sqm within the total area amounting to 78,912 sqm allocated to the project.”
He continued that: “The Mohamed bin Zayed School will comprise 3 floors (a ground floor plus two storeys) and will accommodate 2,550 students (1,500 C2 students and 1,050 C3 students) and will include 85 classrooms (50 for C2 and 35 for C3).”
Explaining the amenities included with classroom activities, Al Ali said: “The school will also include a library, science, arts and computer labs, a multipurpose hall, administration offices, an equipped sports hall, a cafeteria, a dining hall, a prayer room for students and the administration, external playgrounds, parking spaces and external landscaping.”
Meanwhile, the $32.1 million Jebel Hafeet School in Al Ain is co-ed and forms part of the ADFSP, Phase 7, Package 2. The overall area will be 38.422 sq. m for the project and 12.505 sqm dedicated for the buildings, which will have C1 and KG students.
For the Al Ain school, Al Ali noted that: “It will comprise 2 floors (a ground floor plus one floor) and will accommodate 1,490 male and female students (1,250 C1 students and 240 KG students), and will include 62 classrooms, including 12 for KG.”
“The school will also include 2 classrooms for arts and music, a library, administration offices, a multipurpose hall, a cafeteria, a dining hall, external playgrounds, parking spaces and external landscaping. The total built-up area of the facility (ground floor + first floor) will be 17,596 sqm,” Al Ali elaborated.
Both the school projects will be built in compliance with international standards, as well as fall within the context of ADFSP, and will be in accordance with Musanada’s contribution to achieving the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Plan.
