Nakheel awards GBH contract for sports, health and leisure hub at Jumeirah Park

Nakheel has awarded a $9m contract for the construction of a sports, health and leisure hub at Dubai’s Jumeirah Park. GBH International Contracting has been appointed to build the centre, which has a built-up area of 93,000sqft. Construction on the project is scheduled to begin in October of this year.

According to a statement from the developer, the project will feature an Olympic-size swimming pool, a clubhouse, spa and medical centre, along with a variety of restaurants, cafes and shops. Services designed to create a health and wellbeing-focused attraction at the community along with parking for nearly 100 vehicles will also be present.

The centre will also have children’s facilities, while retail amenities will include a supermarket, medical clinic, beauty outlets and everyday convenience stores. Nakheel says The Clubhouse will become the largest of its community clubs dotted across Dubai.

The developer added that Jumeirah Park currently has nearly 21,000 residents and spans more than 380. Spanning more than 380ha.
