SNC-Lavalin subsidiary wins KJO deal
KJO is a joint operations firm comprising Aramco Gulf Operations Company and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company
SNC-Lavalin subsidiary SNC-Lavalin Engineers and Constructors has signed a new five-year framework agreement to provide international general engineering services to Al Khafji Joint Operations (KJO).
SNC-Lavalin’s teams based in Houston, Texas and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia will carry out the work, supported by SNC-Lavalin’s global centres of excellence in London, Calgary and Mumbai.
The new framework agreement expands on the exiting five-year framework contract that was signed in February 2018. As per the terms of the agreement, SNC-Lavalin will assist KJO with engineering for major projects, including new offshore platforms, jackets and sub-sea pipelines, as well as upgrades to existing offshore platforms and jackets, onshore crude and gas handling facilities, gas pipeline networks, utilities, wastewater treatment facilities and instrumentation systems.
“It’s a testament to the strong working relationship between KJO and our team, built up over almost a decade working together, that we’re able to secure another important framework agreement with KJO. These agreements allow us to work closely as a trusted partner to our clients, providing valuable engineering services over many years,” said Christian Brown, president, Oil & Gas, SNC-Lavalin.
KJO is responsible for oil and gas exploration and the development and production in the offshore area close to the Saudi-Kuwait border, including the Khafji and Hout oil fields, which have been running since the 1960s.
