Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a leading Indian engineering and construction company, has said that its construction unit has won contracts worth $437 million in the buildings and factories business, including work on a tourism-related facility from Oman.
In a statement, the Indian construction giant said that the order from a reputed client in the Sultanate will see L&T deliver mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services, structural work, architectural finishes and external development services.
In addition to the Oman project, the company has also won orders from the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, including a contract to build the tallest government office in India.
Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has awarded L&T the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the Head of Department office buildings at Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, the statement added.
The megaproject is the first Steel Diagrid project in India and it is also the first project to be built in combination with the Automatic Climbing Formwork System (ACFS) and Diagrid, it said.
